This role ensures the safe, effective, and timely delivery of care, including medication administration, treatments, and documentation. The Unit Manager/Nurse Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to nursing staff while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies and procedures. Resident Care & Clinical Oversight Deliver and ensure high-quality nursing care that promotes resident rights, dignity, and independence. Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies. Staff Supervision & Leadership Supervise Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNAs), Certified Medication Aides (CMAs), nurses, and assigned staff. Monitor staff performance to ensure assignments are completed appropriately. Participate in employee performance evaluations in collaboration with Nurse Manager/ADON. Assist with staffing needs, scheduling recommendations, and workforce planning. Address and report employee concerns, performance issues, and disciplinary matters. Provide coaching, verbal counseling, and written warnings as appropriate. Foster a respectful, professional, and collaborative work environment. Communication & Coordination Give and receive detailed shift reports. Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and interdisciplinary team members. Report unit concerns, incidents, and operational issues to nursing leadership. Participate in meetings, in-services, and training as required. Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to infection control practices and standard precautions. Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements (including DPH and state guidelines).
