What We Offer Department: Critical Care Transport Location: Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC Schedule: Full-Time, Nightshift (3pm-3am) - Self Scheduling Critical Care Transport is a highly specialized team responsible for safely transporting critically ill or injured patients between healthcare facilities while providing advanced critical care throughout the transport. Rather than caring for multiple patients on a hospital unit, you'll focus your attention on one critically ill patient at a time, ensuring they remain stable while receiving the interventions they need during transport. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy critical care, thrive under pressure, and want to practice with a high level of autonomy while working alongside an experienced transport team. What You'll Do The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures. What We're Looking For Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course. Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred. What You'll Do Provide specialized care to critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients, including those experiencing stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, intracranial hemorrhage, spinal cord injuries, and post-neurosurgical conditions. Care for patients requiring advanced critical care interventions, including mechanical ventilation, titratable medications, intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and other complex therapies. Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessments and recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition. Partner closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
