Director of Nursing
Job Summary:
Our team is seeking a talented and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our Nursing Department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of our Nursing Department, ensuring the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
Develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures governing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
Develop and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing department.
Participate in facility surveys and assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct deficiencies.
Monitor the facility's QI, QM, and survey reports and assist in developing plans to correct potential problem areas.
Assist with discharge planning and complete administrative tasks such as medical forms, reports, and charting.
Monitor and assign nursing personnel, including licensed practical and/or registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and nursing supervisors.
Conduct daily rounds to ensure quality care and supervise nursing personnel.
Assist in developing performance evaluations for the nursing department and ensure departmental disciplinary action is administered fairly.
Assist with infection control monitoring and ensure proper training on safety precautions and equipment.
Qualifications:
3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare facility.
Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Supportive team member with the ability to contribute to and exemplify teamwork and teamwork concept.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Salary: $38 - $46 HOURLY
