Licensed Practical Nurse - John Brooks Recovery Center Mayslanding - Full Time Days

Job Description

The LPN Residential Nurse plays a vital role in the John Brooks Recovery Center's Detox Unit, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with regulations. Under the guidance of nursing leadership, you will assess and care for patients, demonstrating expertise in addiction, detoxification, and chronic diseases.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective operation of the Detox Unit under the Director of Nursing's guidance.
• Perform assessments for signs of dependency and withdrawal, adhering to state and federal regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of health issues related to addiction, chronic diseases, and infectious conditions.
• Provide patient care and support, working closely with the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as per facility protocols.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated with the latest healthcare practices and regulations.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in continuous learning activities.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is mandatory.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in New Jersey.
• Minimum of one year's experience in detoxification is required.
• AHA BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer.
• CPI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Excellent assessment skills for signs and symptoms of dependency and withdrawal.
• Knowledge of health-related issues regarding addiction, detoxification, and chronic diseases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
• Repetitive motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking are essential functions of this role.
