Ayden Healthcare of Oregon is currently seeking a full-time Unit Manager RN/LPN
Position Summary: The primary purpose of your job is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and directing the overall operation of our Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.
Responsibilities & Duties of the Unit Manager:
Resource nurse for patient care related questions or problems
Monitor’s patient care and environment by making daily rounds independently and with the DON
Coordination of ancillary services of PT, OT, and Speech to assure family awareness and understanding of these services
With the input of charge nurses, formulates, and give evaluations to nursing assistants
Responsible for proper management of infectious disease and compliance with CDC recommendations for isolation
Coordinates the completion of MDS+ on all admissions as assigned
Monitors the appropriate use of restraints, nutrition, and appliances
Education of new and inexperienced nurse’s aides in proper methods of patient care
Maintains/requisitions supplies necessary for the provision of patient care
Provides ongoing Inservice training on the spot as problems are identified
Assists charge nurses during busy times
Accepts, researches, and solves complaints per policy and procedure
Performs chart/charting audits to ensure proper care treatments and documentation of same as delegated
Functions as member of the skin integrity team (SIT) and the Fall Team, provides input, solutions, and review of results, as necessary.
Performs on-call services as required, ensuring adequate and safe staffing
Member of the continuing quality improvement committee
Is directly accountable to DON and ADON and is committed to keeping the director informed of all occurrences in the facility
All other duties as delegated by the DON and ADON
Qualifications of the Unit Manager:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN/LPN license in the state in which he/she is practicing.
Two years of successful management experience
Extensive Wound Care experience
Must be able to relate to patients, families, and staff members in an efficient and diplomatic manner using communication and confrontation management skills
(Subacute Unit): Must have experience on a skilled unit and maintain a current knowledge of all skills related to diagnosis admitted to unit
