Job Summary:
At Emerald Care Center Tulsa, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a CMA, you will play a crucial role in administering medications, monitoring resident health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all individuals under our care. This position offers flexibility with scheduling and is ideal for those looking to work on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Medication Administration: Accurately administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and physician orders.
Resident Monitoring: Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and any adverse reactions to medications.
Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area and follow infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Resident Support: Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences while fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere.
Communication: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure that residents' needs are met.
Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or similar environment, is preferred but not required.
Certifications: Current certification as a Medication Aide (CMA) as required by Oklahoma regulations.
Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed, and to perform tasks that require physical stamina and endurance.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
