Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery

Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The Ambulatory Surgery department provides a wide array of surgical procedures and care in an outpatient setting. Patients requiring attention for medical conditions that can be treated without overnight admission to a hospital are attended to by our team of general and specialized surgery professionals. We provide state-of-the-art technology within a comfortable setting and health care staff who are skilled, knowledgeable and sensitive to patient needs. As the Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery unit you would have the opportunity to support physician staff within this high-intensity unit, where you would provide quality nursing care to patients in accordance with accepted standards and hospital policy, and coordinate care planning with other disciplines. Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure. As the Surgical Technologist, you will form part of our state-of-the-art Surgery department and help to provide life-changing surgery services. You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain sterile techniques for all surgical procedures. You will also prepare the operating room, equipment and instruments for surgery while maintaining aseptic techniques.
