Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides resident care and support with activities of daily living while ensuring the health, safety, dignity, and comfort of all residents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with meals, feeding, and hydration

  • Provide personal hygiene care including bathing, grooming, toileting, and showers

  • Assist with ambulation, turning, positioning, and transfers

  • Monitor resident stability by checking vital signs and weights; record intake and output

  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests

  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff

  • Document care using required forms, reports, logs, and records

  • Maintain resident privacy and dignity in compliance with HIPAA guidelines

  • Follow professional standards, company policies, and federal, state, and local regulations (including JCAHO when applicable)

  • Participate in education and training opportunities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification per state requirements

  • Long-term care experience preferred

  • Current CPR certification required

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk regularly

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

  • Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication

  • Moderate noise level in the work environment
