The purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to patients. The framework for practice will be the nursing process in order to prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care. The RN must be able to supervise others as assigned including LPN’s, nursing assistants, clerks, and students. The RN has contact with patients, patient families and visitors, employees, referral agencies, volunteers, administration, and physicians. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The RN must be able to provide patient care, secure cooperation from others, problem-solve, and exercise initiative and judgment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provides comprehensive patient care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Performs ongoing patient assessments, monitors for changes in condition, and collaborates with physicians and healthcare staff to adjust care as needed.
  • Develops individualized care plans, coordinates interdisciplinary care, and ensures discharge planning and patient/family education are completed effectively.
  • Carries out a wide range of clinical and technical nursing procedures, including monitoring multiple body systems, administering treatments, infection control, wound care, catheter care, respiratory support, and emergency response.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and applies critical thinking, sound nursing judgment, and patient safety practices in all aspects of care.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for staff and students, supports teamwork, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and contributes to unit goals and professional development.
  • Expected to follow hospital policies, legal/regulatory nursing standards, and maintain competency in both universal and unit-specific nursing skills.

 

Hours/Shifts
48 hours biweekly, Day/Night shifts and every third weekend at Elbow Lake Hospital.

 

Compensation
Hourly wage range: $38.06 - $56.70. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
