Summary of Primary Function
Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
                                                                                                                                                                          
Essential Job Functions
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures; serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.  Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.  Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Evenings/Nights (United States of America) Job Summary: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The RN MRP System – Emergency Department position is required to float to all Emergency Departments in the RSFH system including freestanding EDs; work every other weekend; and provide holiday coverage as defined in the ED Holiday Scheduling Policy. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN preferred or required within five (5) years of hire date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same Service Line/Specialty will not be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Effective July 1, 2022, current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in a different Service Line/Specialty will be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Experience: At least 2 years of RN work experience in an Emergency Department; or for internal RSFH RNs, at least 1 year of RN work experience in a RSFH ED required.
