A  leading provider of skilled nursing care, seeks a Full-Time, Part Time and Per Dien Registered Nurse Unit Manager to join our team.

The RN Unit Manager directs patient care by performing nursing assessments and collaborating with the nursing team and other disciplines, patients and families to develop effective plans of care.

The RN Unit Manager will be responsible for the overall operation and quality of care for the residents on the assigned unit. 

Qualifications:

  • Communicates patient information with assigned staff during and between shifts

  •  Performs nursing functions and provides care within scope of practice     

  •  Coordinates and delegates care as appropriate

  •  Collaborates with physicians in rounds and examination of patients, as needed

Must be able to follow all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and the Nursing Policies and Procedures.

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English; the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Interest in the nursing needs of aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both.

  • Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties.

  • Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment. on call, as necessary.

  • Minimum one year of education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation preferred.

  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including the administration of medications

  • CPR certified

  • State of CT RN License

Job Description Balance Life & Work with a New Career Opportunity at (CENTER or BUILDING) (LONG TERM CARE) (SHORT TERM REHAB (SKILLED NURSING) (LTACH) Now Hiring – Infection Control Nurse – Southbury, CT Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year Compensation will be based on, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, credentials and any other relevant information The primary purpose of the Infection Control Nurse is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection control program is maintained at all times. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions. Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic technique that successfully correct problem areas. Interpret infection control policies and procedures as necessary. Monitor infection control practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel are implementing our standard operating procedures for tasks involving exposure to blood/body fluids. Make rounds to nursing units for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures, and supervisions of isolation precautions/practice. Visit isolated residents as necessary to ensure that established isolation precautions and aseptic technique are followed. Provide direct nursing care as necessary. Education Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related healthcare facility. Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Must possess as working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
