
Full-Time APRN or PA-C for Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy at AdventHealth Orlando

General Summary:
The APRN or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:
- Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of illnesses related to hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant; fundamental internal medicine as it pertains to the patients’ hematologic malignancy, i.e. diabetes mellitus, hypertension
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, x-ray, etc.
- Position entails managing/monitoring patients in the clinic, infusion center, and hospital settings
- Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
- Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
- Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public; Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail is a must
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Ability to work flexible schedule including call rotation, nights, weekends
- Rounding required during the day and on weekends when on call
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced clinic with highly acute patients, APP will also be required to participate in inpatient rounding at AdventHealth Orlando
- Ability to complete bone marrow biopsies, skin biopsies in both inpatient and outpatient settings, lumbar punctures, and IT Chemo (training will be provided)
- DEA licensure to be obtained upon completion of orientation for prescribing of controlled substances as allowed per laws
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- Experience as an APRN or PA-C in Hematology/Oncology (highly preferred)
- Oncology nursing experience (highly preferred)
Required Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
- Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
- ANCC, AANP, NCCPA (or equivalent) certification
- BLS and ACLS required
