What You’ll Do

  • Deliver person-centered nursing care in alignment with Mayo Clinic standards.
  • Monitor and manage residents’ health needs across multiple care settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure resident safety and well-being.
  • Accurately document skilled interventions to reflect clinical judgement and resident needs.

Qualifications

LPN

Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program (e.g., some states allow RN students to take the LPN board exam after completing one to two years in the RN program).

If graduation has not occurred within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.

Minnesota Licensed Practical Nurse license; active on the Minnesota Board of Nursing Registry.

Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers

*Must be certified by one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network. 

RN

Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited associate's degree or diploma program.

  • *If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required.
  • *If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required. Active Minnesota Registered Nurse License

 

Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers

  • *Must be certified by one of the following providers: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network. 

 

Additional Qualifications

  • One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health or two years of acute care nursing is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and prioritize resident needs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of residents and employees.
