As a Part-Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you’ll provide high-quality care to client employees at our Health Center in Athens, GA. This position offers 25 hours per week within consistent clinic hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility in the specific schedule. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee health and wellness while working a consistent part-time schedule.

What You’ll Do

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

Maintains accountability of administration, recording, control and security of medications, including narcotics. Completes admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed. Confers regularly with treatment team (e.g., nurses, therapists, program managers, provider) regarding client care. Attends and participates in the unit activities such as therapy groups, family meetings as appropriate, staffing, unit meetings, etc. Provides education/explanation to clients, families, and co-workers regarding medication usage/maintenance, common side effects, client's rights, as well as other topics necessary for optimal client care. Monitors client acuity, census, staffing needs, and escalates coverage needs to supervisor/Charge RN. Ensures thorough, accurate documentation is completed for all clients on each shift and client assignment sheets are completed daily and tasks are carried out as assigned. Communicates thorough hand-off reports to oncoming staff and supervisors. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing. One or more years’ nursing experience within clinical area of service provided by facility preferred. Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment preferred. Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures. Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid current RN license from the state or from a compact state, where applicable.
