Vibra Hospital of Western Massachusetts - Central Campus, located in Rochdale, MA is a 47 bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to licensed nursing personnel in the provision of patient care by providing and documenting activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and grooming, and providing a clean, healthy and safe environment. Utilizes basic infection control procedures, basic nutrition and fluid intake skills. Recognizes emergency situations and responds.

Required Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Nurse Apprentice, Nurse Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant as applicable in the state of employment required; OR must be an active Nursing student enrolled in a Nursing Program or recent graduate of such program and allowed to practice as a Nurse, Nurse Apprentice or Nurse Technician in the state of employment required.
Must be an active Nursing student enrolled in a Nursing Program.
Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

Acute care/LTAC experience preferred. Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Responsibilities Essential Functions • Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment and demonstrated competency through Orlando Health. • Performs advanced skills after achieving demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal; wound irrigation; complex dressing change; maintenance of enteral tube feeding (Dobhoff, Nasogastric, and Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy); and tracheostomy care. • Performs increased or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients as assigned and utilizes the Safe Patient Room Environment Checklist during staff changes or transfer of care for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients. • Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs. • Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team. • Ensures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality. • Follows standard precautions. Licensure/Certification Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. Experience None, must be in your 3rd semester of Nursing School to qualify.
