OVERVIEW: Responsible for the overall operation and optimal quality of care for the residents on the assigned unit. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the facility's administration and the Nursing Policies and Procedures. As an LPN you will be responsible for providing residents assistance with ADLs and in the administration of their medications while overseeing staff. Adhering to the instructions of Nurse Management, you will perform your duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, while providing resident care services with kindness and compassion to the residents. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Holds daily shift report with nursing assistants assigned to the unit prior to the start of the shift. Reviews written daily assignments for each resident on assigned unit. Assures assignments are completed before the end of the shift · Makes rounds on assigned residents at least once every two hours · Administers medication and treatments according to the physician's orders. This position is responsible for the proper administration, reconciliation, storage and security of all medications. Other specific tasks and responsibilities for this position include but aren't limited to: Administering prescribed medications, as prescribed by medical team Making independent decisions within the scope of their license involving patient care. Use sound judgment in the informing Leadership of all decisions made and when/how they should be communicated. Reconcile medication at the end of each shift which includes the responsibility of accurately maintaining logs of distribution of controlled substances in accordance to regulation and State law.
