Schedule:

Monday – Friday: Work 12-hour shifts, not to exceed 40 hours in one work week.

24/7 Rotating Support: 12-hour shifts

Shifts:

  • 0645–1915 = 6:45 AM–7:15 PM

  • 1845–0715 = 6:45 PM–7:15 AM (overnight shift)

Lunch: 30 or 60 minutes

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $ hour — Base Rate

  • $ hour — Health & Welfare (H&W)

  • 80 Hours PTO — accrued annually based on wage determination

  • 56 Hours Sick Leave — accrued annually

  • 11 Paid Federal Holidays

 

Minimum Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship-Must be a U.S. Citizen

Degree/Education

Associate degree. Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Certifications

BLS, ACLS, ALS from American Heart Association (AHA)

RN License

Licensure: must maintain a current, active, and unrestricted license from any U.S. State, District of Columbia, U.S. territory or U.S. jurisdiction

Experience

The RN shall have at least one (1) year of full-time experience working as an RN in an Adult Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years (full-time) in clinical nursing within the last four (4) years. Shall possess strong knowledge in telemetry monitoring.

 

Burn Unit RN Responsibilities

  • Provides direct nursing care to adult patients with moderate to severe burn injuries.

  • Performs ongoing head-to-toe assessments and monitors vital signs, neurological status, pain, fluid balance, and overall patient condition.

  • Monitors patients on cardiac/telemetry monitoring and recognizes abnormal rhythms or changes in patient status.

  • Performs and assists with burn wound care, including dressing changes, wound assessment, cleansing, and application of prescribed topical treatments.

  • Monitors wounds for infection, delayed healing, tissue damage, and other complications.

  • Administers medications, IV fluids, antibiotics, analgesics, and other treatments as ordered.

  • Provides aggressive pain management, particularly before and during dressing changes and other painful procedures.

  • Closely monitors fluid and electrolyte balance, particularly in patients with significant burns.

  • Assesses for signs of shock, sepsis, respiratory complications, and other burn-related emergencies.

  • Assists with procedures such as wound debridement, dressing changes, and other treatments.

  • Provides patient and family education regarding wound care, medications, recovery, nutrition, and discharge instructions.

  • Collaborates with physicians, wound-care specialists, respiratory therapists, physical/occupational therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Documents assessments, treatments, patient response, and changes in condition accurately in the medical record.

  • Responds appropriately to changes in condition and escalates care when necessary.
