Job Summary
 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential part of the collaborative patient care team that supports an exceptional patient experience. Our RNs are empowered to practice and contribute throughout the care experience. At its core, the RN provides direct patient care while demonstrating servant leadership, leading clinic-wide huddles and leveraging our interdisciplinary approach to integrated care. The RN promotes a level of care that goes beyond industry standards and strives for excellence at every step.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs evidence-based nursing care and patient education

  • Performs care management by connecting patients with specialists and following up to ensure patients are getting the care they need

  • Utilizes population management tools to ensure patients receive optimal care based on industry-wide recommendations

  • Provides phlebotomy services, performs in-house laboratory tests and works with the provider to determine how and when to send out specialty labs

  • Screens for vaccine-preventable diseases and administers primary care and travel-related immunizations

  • Manages RN schedule and appropriateness of appointments. Takes initiative to contact patients when needed and demonstrate knowledge of when to consult with a provider

  • Complies with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the practice, including performing specific care under standing orders

  • Provides general triage services to walk-ins and over the phone. Assesses patient’s needs, consult provider when needed and direct appropriate care

  • Provides occasional on-site care at client-sponsored events such as flu clinics and biometric screenings

  • Participates in quality improvement programs to ensure the practice is performing efficiently and in accordance with Crossover’s policies

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of healthcare analytic tools, systems, and analysis

  • Participates in implementation of new health technologies, products, services, and programs that establish the Crossover Medical Group as a recognized thought leader for employer-based health care and lifestyle medicine programs

  • Manages population health programs and clinic outreach initiatives

  • Serves as a resource to other nurses and the care team, and participate in the training and onboarding of new nurses

  • Assists in performing Quality and Compliance checks required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

  • Contributes to reporting requirements related to incident reporting and compliance

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing 

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state you are practicing

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Outpatient care and urgent care experience

  • Knowledge of Apple and Google-based technology or client technologies such as Microsoft or HP

The Transition Registered Nurse provides transition and discharge teaching/planning for patients along the continuum of care. The Registered Nurse - Infusion is a member of an interdisciplinary care team. This role provides patient-centric care and is primarily responsible for nursing assessment and diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position is a part time .75 FTE onsite at our South Lake Union location. Responsibilities Assesses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluates patients’ adaptation to health changes Develops a plan of care based on patients’ disease, symptoms, and response to treatment Educates patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management Coordinates with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care Refers patients, families and caregivers as appropriate to other clinical resources/professionals such as social work, home health care, clinical nutrition, etc. Implements, evaluates and modifies plan of care Integrates research and evidence based knowledge into clinical practice In addition to primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurses (RN), the Infusion RN will have the following key responsibilities: Nursing Care and Assessment Demonstrate knowledge of standard treatment and medication side effects Perform nursing assessment, review relevant lab results, assess pain and other symptoms Administer IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and blood products Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs Demonstrate an awareness of the potentially hazardous nature of many of the agents administered and uses correct precautions when handling them Follow all procedures regarding safe disposal of any materials used in the administration of chemotherapy or other hazardous agents and blood products Patient and Family Education Provide patient and family education in coordination with treatment and care plan Conduct learning needs assessment for patient and caregiver(s) Ensure patients have clinic contact information and understand when to call if symptoms arise or persist post-infusion therapy Communication and Teamwork Communicate or escalate patient symptoms and concerns to provider as needed Collaborate with the care team to provide effective and efficient patient care Request consultation from social work, dietician, spiritual care, and or any other supportive care teams when patient's situation indicates Professional Development and Clinic Engagement Participation in continuing education, departmental projects, committee work, and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Must have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and must upgrade to an MSL primary state of residence, WA, within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval. Applicants that do not have previous oncology experience will be provided additional training and support Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card (required within 3 months of hire) Additional certification may be required dependent upon department. Critical thinking; the ability to practice the cognitive skills of analyzing, applying standards, discriminating, information seeking, logical reasoning, predicting, and transforming knowledge Ability to develop clinical judgment. Time Management skills; the ability to organize and manage time and tasks independently Ability to communicate effectively by looking and listening for cues, asking open-ended questions, exploring cues, using pauses, screening responses, and clarifying response. Ability to effectively listen by using reflecting, acknowledging, summarizing, empathizing, and paraphrasing skill. Ability to effectively provide information by checking what information the person knows already, giving small amounts of information at a time, using clear terms and avoiding jargon, avoiding detail unless it is requested, checking for understanding, and pausing and waiting for a response. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Two years of nursing experience preferred Certification in oncology or specialty practice area 2 years of RN Oncology experience in an ambulatory infusion setting The hourly pay range for this position is from $47.64 to $88.19 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Registered Nurses are paid on a step-scale basis and are also eligible for shift differentials and other pay premiums such as advanced degree, preceptor and certification. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. This position is a part time .75 FTE onsite at our South Lake Union location.
