UNC Rex Hospital Day Infusion is an outpatient department located on the UNC Rex Hospital campus at 3100 Blue Ridge Road. The department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A Day Infusion Nurse provides comprehensive care to patients receiving outpatient, non-chemotherapy infusion therapies used to treat a variety of medical conditions. Responsibilities include safely administering infusion medications, closely monitoring patients for adverse reactions, assessing patient responses to treatment, providing education regarding medications and therapies, and collaborating with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate and support each patient’s plan of care. Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
