How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment. Overview At the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, and in collaboration with Ambulatory Leadership, provides guidance and leadership for the clinical practice of the staff in the ambulatory settings at Newport Health Center (NHC). Accountable for the quality of nursing care service, in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and the NH Board of Nursing rules for delegated nursing tasks. Collaborates with Medical Director, providers and Practice Leadership to assure development and ongoing competence of the clinical support staff. Works closely with the NLH Primary Care Operations team to build consistent clinical processes across locations. Collaborates with the CNO to assure that system nursing practice goals and expectations are met. Responsibilities Clinical Operations Directly responsible for operational and performance management of RN/LPN, CMA, and other clinical staff in the NLH Medical Group Practice (direct reports). Manages Clinical Schedule, Time Away, and Payroll for Direct Reports, and collaborates with Practice Leadership to provide consistent appropriate clinical coverage to NLMG Providers. Develops and implements program for the onboarding of new clinical staff. Provides leadership in emergent situations and in those that require activation of the Emergency Activation Plan. Maintains professional competence through participation in education programs and workshops. Collaborates with Clinical Educator in all clinical education opportunities and mandates. Quality Accountable for working with staff to assure Rural Health Center (RHC) survey readiness. Assists and supports Practice Leadership in the implementation and evaluation of performance improvement indicators. Functions as a "champion" in designated initiatives by role modeling, serving as an educator, and participating in the evaluation of the initiative.
