Collects and reports clinical data to CMS and national registries ensuring accuracy and reliability of submissions. Serves as a resource on clinical data related to registry participation and CMS measures . Provides feedback and interpretation of registry reports and benchmarks to staff and physicians. Queries databases, analyzes data and reports information to appropriate stakeholders. Participates in multidisciplinary improvement initiatives by providing information to support the rationale for practice changes.

Responsibilities
- Accurately abstracts and cleans data as needed
- Provides feedback and communication to physicians, management and staff on measures and comparative data
- Participates in committees and/or multidisciplinary teams to analyze contributing factors, identify opportunities for improvement in documentation or changes in practice patterns
- Assures abstraction and submissions are done in a timely fashion
- Stays current and acts as a resource on definitions used for abstraction
- Assembles routine reports and distributes to appropriate stakeholders, committee and management
- Provides ad hoc reports as requested out of registries & local databases as requested
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program- LPN or RN
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa
- 3 years in healthcare
- Level 1; Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
