Medical Assistant, Referral Coordinator

Owns the referral process from start to finish, coordinating authorizations, documentation, specialist selection, scheduling, member communication, and follow-up to ensure timely access to care.
Provides concierge-level support throughout the referral journey by proactively addressing barriers, coordinating with specialty offices, communicating next steps, and tracking referrals through completion.
Closes the loop on referrals by confirming appointments, obtaining specialist records and recommendations, updating the care team, and coordinating follow-up to ensure continuity of care.

What You’ll Do

Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
Prepares treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments
Medication administration including injections, performs laboratory tests, operates EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations
Performs administrative tasks, assists at the front desk, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls, and orders medical supplies
Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands on externship completed and passed- total online courses are not accepted
Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
