Registered Nurse Medica Surgical

Overview Department: Med/Surg Employment Type: Full Time Shifts Available: Nights Hours: 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Med Surge RN. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage. Responsibilities ** If you have recently graduated or about to graduate as a Registered Nurse (RN) with no experience you are encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission. Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State. BCLS upon hire and maintain current. Previous Hospital Acute Care experience preferred. ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current. Registered Nurse ICU

Overview Department: ICU Employment Type: Full Time Shifts Available: Days Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00am to 7:00pm Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decisions, and will be compassionate to all patients. An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients Qualifications Education, Work Experience & Qualifications: 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Overview Department: Telemetry Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12 hour – 7:00pm to 7:00am Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State. Overview Department: Telemetry Shift’s Available: Nights Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am – 7:00pm (12hr shifts) Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS A Tele Charge Registered Nurse oversees nursing operations on our telemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring is safely conducted. They serve as both a clinical expert and team leader, handling emergencies, facilitating communication, and supporting both patients and staff. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Staff Coordination: assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload Unit Supervision: monitor overall operations of the telemetry unit during the shift, ensuring workflow efficiency and patient safety Direct Patient Care: provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments Telemetry Monitoring: interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identifies arrhythmias, and initiates appropriate interventions or escalations Problem-Solving: act as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Current and valid state RN License Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
