Your Impact as an RN Wound Care Nurse

As the RN Wound Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in improving healing outcomes, maintaining skin integrity, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, monitoring, and documenting wounds, pressure injuries, and skin conditions

  • Developing and implementing individualized wound care treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team

  • Performing wound treatments according to physician orders and evidence-based clinical practices

  • Monitoring residents for changes in condition and communicating updates promptly to providers and nursing leadership

  • Educating and mentoring nursing staff on wound prevention, skin integrity, infection prevention, and proper documentation

  • Participating in care plan meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and survey preparedness

  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations

  • Collaborating with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to ensure outstanding clinical outcomes

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • Wound Care experience preferred

  • Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing experience strongly preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of wound care best practices, infection prevention, and skin integrity management

The Waters of Roan Highlands is now hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) (RN) DON POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing DON has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the functions, activities, and training of the nursing services staff, in addition to the supervision of the Therapy Department and its functions within the facility. ADON Assistant Director of Nursing

ADON JOB SUMMARY: Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, directing and evaluating services and activities of the Nursing Department. Work harmoniously with other departments and disciplines to meet facility goals while ensuring a holistic and rehabilitative approach in assisting each Resident to attain maximal independence. Accept supervisory responsibility of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Establish and implement objectives and standards for the Nursing Department in compliance with the current requirements of regulatory agencies. Evaluate and monitor Resident rounds, observation of care rendered. Ensure sufficient and efficient staffing levels through training and the personnel process to meet the Resident needs daily on a shift-to-shift basis. Ascertain that accurate communications regarding significant changes in the status of Residents are expediently routed to designated physicians and family members/legal guardian. Establish effective rapport with facility staff, members of healthcare team, mangerial support, Residents, family members and visitors. Implement standards of care, policies and procedures Work the floor when necessary Conduct monthly Consultant Compliance internal self-audits of Quality Indicators using designed audit tools. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Unencumbered, active RN licensure in the state of employment. Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year experience recommended).
