Medical Assistant - Women's Health OB/GYN & Imaging Center - Days

The Medical Assistant will assist in all aspects of patient flow throughout the department. This includes, but is not limited to greeting patients, pulling/filing charts, typing forms, preparing documentation for transmission, answering telephones and assisting the physician, physician’s assistant, registered nurse and technical staff in various aspects of patient care.

This is a full-time day shift position located at the NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday 11:00AM - 7:00PM
  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00AM - 6:00PM
  • Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM

Preferred Criteria 

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program

  • Candidate must possess excellent judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure and deal effectively with all levels of staff.

Description The Medical Assistant I provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. This individual is also responsible for assisting with clinical, administrative and organizational tasks associated with patient care coordination. Responsibilities 1. JOB DESCRIPTION Distinguishing Characteristics Medical Assistant: Non-supervisory; performs clinical and/or laboratory duties at least 50% of the time in accordance with prescribed procedures. Duties of the position may vary when assigned to an inpatient versus outpatient care area of the hospital. Illustrative Duties Medical Assistants function under the direct supervision and guidance of nursing personnel, physicians, and other medical and laboratory personnel in the performance of assigned duties.
