Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the NIGHT shift, variable schedule and will also work every third weekend.

 

About the Emergency Department at Woodwinds:

  • 23 beds
  • Average 100 pts per day.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
  • Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;
  • Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
  • Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
  • Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;
  • Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
  • Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and
  • Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure from MN Board of Nursing
  • 1+ years of current ED RN experience 
  • Charge Capable preferred
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association, by end of orientation
  • TNCC certification within 12 months of hire
  • PALS/ENPC certifications within 18 months of hire
  • Associate degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Inpatient RN CAP 2 may be an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) for new employees who meet the RN CAP 2 criteria or attained through advancement from CAP 1. Practice cost containment strategies in all areas including medical supply inventory and personnel.
