Certified Surgical Technologist - Operating Room 

Shift: PRN - Seasonal

Rate: 35/hourly

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS 

  • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
  • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
  • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period
  • During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
  • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
  • Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27 
  • Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
  • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

Job Summary and Qualifications

A surgical scrub technician is completely proficient in scrubbing all operating room procedures, and further possesses the capability to prioritize and organize their workload as delegated by their Supervisor. Scrub Tech also must demonstrate proficiency in the provision of quality patient care and efficient assistance to surgeons. The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency. 

What qualifications you will need:
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Graduate of a school of surgical technology required 
  • No experience Required; 1 yr experience preferred 
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
