Shift: PRN Seasonal (Nights)

Location: Medical City North Hills Hospital

Rate: 55/hourly

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period
During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation
Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27
Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. What you will do in this role:

Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Other Job Functions Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required Perform additional duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN, preferred Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required 2+ years full-time RN experience in Telemetry/ICU, or 2+ years combination experience in related healthcare positions, required Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required; PALS strongly preferred (ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification) Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Pennsylvania RN's: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
