What you will be doing?

The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery. At BriteLife Recovery, we offer a unique opportunity for nurses to maintain their therapeutic relationships with their patients without the chaos and unsafe staffing ratios that are common in the hospital setting. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms and all clients perform their own ADLs.

 

What tasks are required?

  • Assists clinical team with the Admissions process;

  • Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies;

  • Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from Physicians and Nurse Practitioners; 

  • Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects;

  • Monitors clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms;

  • Maintains electronic health records (EHR);

  • Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients);

  • Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery to prospective clients and employees.

  • Maintains resident’s confidentiality and privacy.

  • Assures quality of care by adhering to DDAP standards of practice and facility standards of care.

  • Assists with solving resident’s problems by working with the interdisciplinary team.

 

What we need from you?

  • Current LPN or RN license in good standing in Pennsylvania.

  • Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR 

  • Experience working with alcohol or substance use treatment preferred.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.

  • Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance use.

  • Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.

  • Ability to screen for danger to self or others.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities.

  • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.

  • Participation in continuing Professional Development.

  • Understanding of the benefits and limitations of toxicology testing procedures.

  • Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug use.

  • Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy.

  • Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance use.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.

RN Unit Manager

Summary: Under the supervision of the DON/ADON the Unit Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned core programs. Leadership is provided to all nursing staff through daily oversight of nursing care on the assigned unit(s). Unit Managers adhere to the standards of care, manage the environment to maintain resident safety, and supervise the resident care activities performed by RN’s, LPN’s and Nursing Assistants. May act on behalf of the DON in his/her absence. Follows all policies and procedures and performs duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act.
