Winn Army Community Hospital is a 112-bed community hospital which will feature a new Women’s Health and Mammography Center.  Our healthcare team provides primary and specialty care for a patient population of over 70,000.  As a civilian family practice physician you will play an integral role in providing exceptional healthcare to the Soldiers and Families in our great Army and the 3rd Infantry Division. 

Key supporting specialties at Winn include OB/Gyn, general and orthopedic surgery, EENT, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Urology.  Enjoy the benefits of a full inpatient and outpatient EMR with digital radiography.

Responsibilities

As a Practical Nurse you will:

 

Duties

  • Serve as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Perform direct patient care and care coordination activities such as referral management, order reconciliation, and activity tracking.
  • Provide individualized nursing care to patients of all ages.
  • Screen and review immunization records.
  • Administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular immunizations to all age groups.
  • Educate patients and/or family/guardians/caretakers on requirements for care and medications.

No person appointed pending licensure may be retained beyond the probationary period if licensure has not been attained.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below:Experience: One year of nursing experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided a practical knowledge of human body structure and sterile techniques and procedures, performing such duties as providing direct patient care, taking vitals signs, administering immunizations or medications, screening and/or updating patient medical records, and performing routine procedures, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), pulmonary function tests, wound care, audiograms and vision screenings. This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
