Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Assist in cleaning up activity areas after completing activity functions. Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for resident. Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for the residents. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information & follow facility guidelines in reporting non-compliance with said guidelines & treat residents with dignity at all times.
