As a valued member of our clinic team, you'll help ensure patients receive compassionate, high-quality care from check-in through follow-up.

What You'll Do

Welcome and prepare patients for appointments and procedures
Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
Assist providers during examinations and treatments
Administer medications as permitted by certification and clinic protocols
Perform basic clinical procedures such as dressing changes and suture or staple removal
Collect laboratory specimens and assist with related testing processes
Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR)
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members
Support clinic operations while maintaining patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

The Medical Assistant (Care Promoter 1) at our South Philadelphia office is an unlicensed medical professional cross-trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical centers running smoothly. The duties of Care Promoter 1 vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location and type. In addition to administrative duties, Care Promoters perform clinical duties under direct physician supervision in accordance with state medical practice acts. The Care Promoter 1 is an integral member of a Physician-lead Care Team that is focused on providing excellent and comprehensive primary care for a specific population of patients. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Measures and records patient vital signs; records patient interview and medical history.
