Job Summary and Responsibilities

This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus AND up to $24,000 Student Loan Assistance

 

As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

  • Provides direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units, makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient throughout, and directly observes staff performance on their assigned shift.
  • Proactively matches existing resources seeking ways to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
  • Monitors productivity and assures that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
  • Communicates personnel related concerns to the Unit Manager.
  • Uses a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving.
  • Facilitates Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.)
Job Requirements

Required

  • Other Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and 2 years RN experience, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: KY, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months and


Preferred

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire

How you make a difference In their role, the Director of Nursing (DON) is accountable for developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. They work closely with the Medical Director to promote high standards of care and support the professional development of nursing staff to provide quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and manages budgets, policies, and procedures to align with facility goals and objectives. Organizes service delivery, manage resources, and collaborate with other departments, facilities, persons served, families, and visitors. Leads quality improvement activities, provides direct supervision, and serves as a resource and consultant to nursing staff. Monitors safety issues, evaluate service delivery and staff growth, and adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct. POSITION PURPOSE: Work with physicians, implementing orders for medications, treatments and special tests. Supervise LPNs, LVNs and CNAs, providing them support in order that they may provide total nursing care for residents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION: • Utilize the nursing process to assess resident care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes related to nursing care. • Interview applicants, recommend hires; participate in counseling to extent permitted by law • Initiate and lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans; assess and document resident's condition and nursing needs; assign team members who have the capabilities and qualifications to meet resident's needs • Implement physicians' orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations • Ensure supplies are used economically and equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner • Coordinate nursing care of residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments • Report and record observations and reactions regarding residents • Assist or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments • Perform additional duties as assigned.
