Lovelace Westside Hospital provides care to Albuquerque’s Westside and Rio Rancho, including a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical capabilities such as Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), bariatric and orthopedic service lines.

Responsibilities

The LPN is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, provides direct, safe, appropriate, and effective nursing care to designated patients in accordance with patient needs, current standards of nursing practice, and organizational policies within the scope of LPN Licensure and hospital policy.
Performs general nursing tasks.
Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Graduate from a practical nursing program
CPR
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Essential Functions Provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and responding to patient needs. Conducts focused patient assessments, identifying and reporting changes in patient conditions to the appropriate team members. Administers medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and safety protocols. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care, interventions, and observations in the medical record.
