Staff RN - Cardiac Rehab FT Days

$54.17 - $80.45 / hour

     

    The Staff RN uses the nursing process to deliver nursing care to a given patient care population as it relates to the care setting. Nursing care is based on the interpretation and execution of the medical and nursing plan of treatment utilizing established procedures standards and protocols of individuals within the assigned work shift. The Staff RN provides nursing care to the population served in the unit.

    Department Specific Competencies

    • Confirms order for cardiac teaching; provides appropriate cardiac teaching and materials and assists with ambulating as needed.
    • Completes appropriate documentation of cardiac rehabilitation orientation of each patient and appropriately documents each session.

    • Documents patient information in appropriate clinical format in Cardiac Rehab and completes in a timely manner, ie Medicare reports, patient charts.
    • Interprets cardiac rhythms and provide appropriate intervention.
    • Maintain certification in: Basic Cardiac Life Support , Advanced Cardiac Life Support and mandatory education to include fire/electrical safety, infection control, etc.

    • Patient/Family Involvement - Provides cardiac education to support the patient and family understanding of CAD and recovery in order to reduce risk factors.
    • Provides all services of Cardiac Rehabilitation Program to adult patients.
    • Works with MD to provide for Cardiac Rehab, Physical Therapy, Dietary and/or Respiratory Therapy when needed.
    • Leads, monitors, and supervises a wide range of individual and group and therapeutic exercise sessions appropriate to patients who represent the full range of risk strata.
    • Patient Care: Phase II - Conducts initial interviews and organizes and monitors exercise therapy.
    • Provides education and materials, including but not limited to, nutrition, exercise, stress, blood pressure, and other areas of self care.
    • Participates in Emergency Management/Disaster planning safety exercises to ensure appropriate care and treatment is provided for our pediatric population during a disaster.
    • Refers patient's for diabetics educator, dietitian, respiratory therapist, and other support groups as needed

    Charge Nurse ICU - Full Time, Night Shift (12hr)

    The Charge Nurse will assume responsibility and accountability for the quality of nursing activities and staff functions during their shift. The Charge Nurse provides direct and indirect care in the Intensive Care setting. Under general direction of the Nursing Department Leadership, will serve as a resource person, organizes, plans, directs with focus of providing high quality individualized patient care. The Charge Nurse will monitor compliance with formulated a plan of care to meet the identified needs of patient/family/significant others using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy provided by the staff Registered Nurse, assess care and direct staff for immediate response to changes in condition or response to treatment. Consistently monitor and evaluates patient outcomes and modifies plan of care and participates in the coordination of continuum of care. Will provided direct communication with the Nurse Department Director. As appropriate, communicates and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time and direct patient care, within the scope of practice. The Board of Registered Nursing for the state of California defines the nature of the direction and supervision required. Requirements: Minimum Experience: Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. At least, three (3) years of experience in ICU/CCU preferred. Skills: Patient Assessment, Critical thinking, documentation, and communication. Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the plan of care.
