Overview
Under supervision of a professional nurse, renders nursing care to patients and performs related work as required and within he limits of training.
Responsibilities
Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program. Current NYS licensure as an LPN required. BCLS certification; venipuncture; EKG certification. 1 year of LPN experience in an ambulatory health facility preferred. Good computer skills required. Good oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Speaks, reads, writes English required to the extent of the position. Bilingual Preferred
Pay Range
USD $35.93 - USD $36.50 /Hr.

Overview

Responsibilities
- Collects data from patient, family or significant others and records on Initial Data Base form
- Contributes to the formulation and updating of plan of care and implements plan of care under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Gives direct nursing care to assigned patients (e.g., medications, treatments, dressing changes, TPR) according to established standards
- Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately, notifying charge nurse as needed
- Documents pertinent information regarding patient's responses and nursing interventions in patient's medical record
- Administers medication according to hospital policies
- Applies principles of infection control and safety in the performance of patient care
- Communicates effectively with charge nurse and other member of the Health Care Team regarding patient's needs and/or changes in condition
- Responds appropriately in crisis situation
- Reports significant unit problems to the R.N
- Patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Promotes adherence to the Patient's Bill of Rights
