Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. 
 
This is a part-time night shift position covering the hours of 11:00pm  7:15am with rotating weekends and holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital in Bronxville; right across from the Metro North Station. 
 
Preferred Criteria 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

 

Required Criteria 

  • One year in acute care setting preferred or certified long term care Nursing Assistant 

  • Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association (BLS)  

  • Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum

As assigned by the team leader or charge nurse, the CNA is responsible for the following related duties: * Maintaining non-patient areas (i.e. tub room, utility room, etc.) in a neat and orderly condition, as assigned. o Assisting with admission and discharge procedures. * Answering residents' call lights. * Performing errand services for nursing unit as needed. * Maintaining resident's living area, consisting of bed, bedside table, overhead table, wheelchairs, geriatric chair clothing drawers and closets and bathroom storage area in a clean, orderly manner. 3.
