Education:

  • Required: Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.


Experience:

  • Required: 1 year as a registered nurse.
  • Preferred: 1 year of clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.


Licensure/Certification/Listing:

  • Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. If working in a critical care area, ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider is required.

Average daily census is 14. Our unit collaborates with providers, nursing teammates, recreational therapy, music therapy, social work, chaplaincy, and several other child-friendly volunteer groups. Our average length of stay is 5-7 days. We currently utilize the CPI de-escalation program. We were recently voted twice as a unit to "likely recommend for care" by patients and families. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Current Licensure as a professional registered nurse by the State of North Carolina. Current certification in CPR.
