Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary

As a member of the nursing team with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You'll be responsible for the care of our patients according to their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Essential Functions

  • Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
  • Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
  • Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
  • Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
  • Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course

    Job Description Corewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit This 31-bed unit is dedicated to Oncology and Med-Surg overflow. This unit schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies, and cardiac catheterization. It also specializes in surgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. The nurse patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity. This unit also covers the 8-bed infusion center, which is also included on the 3rd floor.     **Sign-on Bonus available!!** $1,500 for full-time positions $750 for part-time positions GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. UNIT DESCRIPTION: 8 North East and West CPCU makes up a 68-bed unit cardiac step-down unit that provides an intermediate level of care to patients that typically have a cardiac related diagnosis such as coronary artery disease (CAD), congestive heart failure (CHF), myocardial infarction (MI) and heart arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (A-fib) and ventricular tachycardia (V-Tach). We also provide pre and post procedure care to patients that have undergone cardiac procedures, such as catheterization/angioplasty, stents, ablations, and placement of pacemakers, and defibrillators. Our nurses receive specialized training in arterial sheath removal and Tikosyn administration and are ACLS certified. All patients are continuously monitored by telemetry.
