Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission.    Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at Shrewsbury Surgery Center The Registered Nurse Operating Room provides nursing care and service during surgical cases. The Operating Room RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: ENT, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Plastic, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology.    Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS, ACLS, or PALS as required by the center
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
Pay Range: $55.00/hr - $57.00/hr (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.)   Benefits USPI offers the following benefits, subject to employment status:

As a Same Day Surgery Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include: Performing comprehensive perioperative assessments to identify the physiological, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients preparing for and recovering from surgical procedures Providing safe, individualized nursing care throughout the ambulatory surgical experience while adapting quickly to changing patient needs and rapid patient turnover Coordinating admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow, continuity of care, and a positive experience for patients and families Monitoring vital signs, evaluating patient responses to care, and recognizing subtle changes in condition that may require timely clinical intervention Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team Providing clear, compassionate education regarding surgical preparation, recovery expectations, discharge instructions, medications, and follow-up care to help patients and families feel informed and prepared Coordinating preoperative and postoperative care needs with other nursing units and members of the surgical team to facilitate seamless transitions throughout the patient's surgical journey Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the medical record while ensuring compliance with nursing standards, organizational policies, and patient safety practices Completing post-discharge follow-up calls to assess recovery, reinforce education, and address patient or family questions following their procedure Serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor to nursing staff, new employees, and students while contributing to a supportive environment focused on professional growth This Role Might Be For You If Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment allow you to recognize subtle changes in patient condition and respond confidently You thrive in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment where patient turnover and priorities can change quickly You enjoy helping patients and families feel informed, reassured, and prepared throughout the surgical experience Organization and time management allow you to balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining safe, efficient patient flow You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team You enjoy serving as a clinical resource and supporting the learning and development of colleagues, new nurses, and students Patient advocacy, compassion, and attention to detail are central to how you provide nursing care You value continuous improvement and are motivated to incorporate evidence-based and High Reliability principles into everyday practice To be considered for this Registered Nurse opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and current BLS and ACLS certifications. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least one year of inpatient nursing experience are preferred. Certified Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB) and Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) credentials are also preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, organization, and time-management skills, along with the ability to independently manage patient needs and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team.
