Job Summary:

Join our dynamic Nursing Department at College Medical Center Phoenix as a Full-Time Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on the Day Shift. In this vital role, you will provide safe, therapeutic, and age-appropriate care to pediatric patients in a behavioral health setting, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will help maintain a supportive and healing environment while addressing each patient’s physical, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

Scheduled Shift: Day Shift and Night Shift

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN licensure

  • New Grads are welcome to apply

  • A Level One Fingerprint Card is required

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers card

  • Minimum 6 months of psychiatric experience preferred

  • CPI Certification required within 30 days of hire

  • Knowledge of pediatric growth and development and age-appropriate patient care

  • Experience in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting preferred

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Observe, record, and report changes in patients’ physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions

  • Provide safe and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of an RN

  • Monitor safety within the therapeutic environment and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed

  • Assist with admissions, patient data collection, and orientation to the unit and program

  • Document patient interactions, observations, and responses to therapeutic interventions

  • Communicate appropriately with patients, parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding care

  • Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary treatment team to implement individualized care plans

  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for pediatric patients

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications.
