Performs patient intake including obtaining vital signs, contributing to the assessment of the patient’s health status, and recording results in the EMR. Maintains and updates preventative health screening documentation. Identifies psychosocial needs of patients utilizing the depression screening tool and communicates concerns to the patient’s medical provider. Utilizes nursing standards of care including assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation. Communicates the patient’s condition to the medical provider including any significant changes noted during patient assessment. Performs point-of-care testing per established policies and procedures. Assists medical provider with procedures. Maintains aseptic technique during treatments and special procedures. Reports results of laboratory and other tests to the patient when directed by the medical provider. Utilizes available communication methods, which may include EMR and telephone, to convey patient-related communication as necessary. Maintains confidentiality of patient information according GC policy and federal/state guidelines and regulations. Stocks patient rooms with necessary supplies. Maintains current knowledge of medications and administration of injections. Understands and applies the Six Rights to Medication Administration. Overview Bring your LPN skills to a fast-paced Emergency Department where every day brings something different. As New Hampshire's only Level 1 Trauma Center, our 33-bed ED provides care for approximately 31K patients each year, from neonates through older adults, with a wide range of emergency, urgent, and non-urgent needs. Our LPNs are an important part of our multidisciplinary team and work primarily within our Split Flow area, helping patients move efficiently through the early stages of their emergency care. In this role, you'll support patients as providers evaluate them, labs and other testing are completed, and they transition between the waiting area and clinical care spaces. This is a great opportunity for an LPN who enjoys a dynamic environment, working collaboratively with RNs, providers, paramedics, EMTs, and other members of the emergency care team while caring for a diverse patient population.
