Orthopaedics Clinic

40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm)

 

Provides general nursing care to patients within scope of licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process - assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to facilitate continuing health care to individuals, families, and community.
  • Identifies common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
  • Recognizes the need for and performs routine office procedures and testing.
  • Assists patients to achieve basic health care goals.
  • Identifies patient education needs, providing instruction or referring appropriately.
  • Assists staff in institutional quality improvement measures and office standards of practice.
  • Provides telephone advice to patients per physician specific protocols; refers patients appropriately.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

    • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

    Required Licensure/Certifications

    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of NH required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.

Documents care and progress Completes appropriate charging documentation, per practice protocol. Shares responsibility for prescription line, to include calling in refills, per hospital protocol Medical Assistants (MAs) may administer B12 injections, plant PPD tests and administer immunizations as directed by provider. Triage and Nurse visits RNs ONLY Triages phone call from patients to include: assessment of symptoms, analyzing urgency of needs, advising simple treatments or referring them for immediate care in the Emergency Room or Physician’s office Conducts Nurse-Only visits as requested by physician. Only RNs/LPNs will administer medications and injections (see above exception for MAs). Qualifications MAs / CMAs/RMAs - Certification/registration or successful completion of Clinical and/or Pharmacology coursework is required. Graduate of an accredited school is required. 0-1 year clinical experience Office Practice experience preferred Required Licensure/Certifications REQUIRED LICENSE(S): • Licensed LPN with NH eligibility REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • CPR Certification
