Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) Setting: Healthcare Facilities Job Type: Travel Pay: 2254 Week Hours: 36.00 Location: Hendersonville, NC

The Orthopedic Registered Nurse focuses on caring for patients with musculoskeletal diseases and disorders. These orthopedic issues include conditions like arthritis, bone fractures, broken bones, joint replacements, genetic malformations, arthritis, and osteoporosis. The Orthopedic Registered Nurse is knowledgeable with traction, casting, mobility devices, and pain management. The Orthopedic Registered Nurse will assist physicians with preparation for procedures, surgery and assist patients with their postoperative recovery.

Minimum Requirements:

One (1) year of nursing experience preferred in an orthopedic unit
Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
Orthopedic Nurse Certification (ONC) preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age

Assess the residents and their records on admission and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in order to recognize when to refer the resident to a physician for evaluation, supervision or directions. May act as a Unit Nurse when directed. Provide supervision to C.N.A's and all subordinate staff which includes checking their work to ascertain that assignments have been completed.
