We are currently seeking a RN Charge Nurse - Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Charge Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has superior nursing knowledge. This position requires a strong unique person who is able to adapt at a moment’s notice to any situation including those of high stress. The RN that holds this position must have the ability to be positive in all things with the ability to manage our behavioral unit successfully.

  • Supervise and support nursing staff including CNAs, CMTs, and Hall Monitors.

  • Conduct audits, assessments, and monitor compliance with care standards.

  • Assist with staff training and orientation under DON guidance.

  • Oversee medication passes and supervise CMTs during administration.

  • Ensure resident safety and dignity while promoting quality care.

Develops short and long term goals for the department designed to prevent employee accidents and infection. Provides a program of primary and secondary disease prevention, which includes immunization, medical surveillance, health hazard appraisals and early disease detection. Assures that pre-employment health requirements are met. Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal agencies with regard to employee health and safety. Maintains OSHA 300 log. Provides mandated education to all employees. Conducts safety inspections and is a member of the safety committee. Develops and maintains a confidential employee health medical record system. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development by identifying learning need and pursuing continuing education. Actively participates in research and hospital committees.
