School Registered Nurse (RN) in Newark, NJ

Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students as a dedicated school nurse for the upcoming 2026/27 school year. In this role, you'll provide essential 1:1 care for a student throughout the school day—including riding the bus to and from school and remaining attentive and responsive during all school activities. The position begins as soon as possible and continues full-time, Monday to Friday, from approximately 7:50/8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active, unencumbered RN or LPN license required
• Prior experience in pediatric or school nursing is a must (new graduates will not be considered)
• Competence in providing individualized, compassionate care in a school setting
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to remain calm and confident in varying situations
• Comfortable with the daily routine of bus transportation and on-campus duty

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver attentive, 1:1 medical care during transport and throughout the school day
• Monitor and support student health and well-being, quickly addressing any medical needs
• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and school health teams
• Maintain accurate records and follow best practices for medication administration and care protocols
• Foster a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment
