Job Description

Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Med/Surg Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Minimum: California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Years of Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum: 1 year recent acute care experience in a hospital setting.
  • Preferred: Med/Surg or Telemetry experience

How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Job Description Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital seeks an experienced RN for their ICU. Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital hasfourcritical care beds. We serve the Goleta and northern Santa Barbara area, including Isla Vista and the University of California, Santa Barbara. We offer our patients a critical care environment with personalized care. Our scope of service is predominantly intensive care unit patients with a smaller population of cardiac and medical intensive care patients.
