Overview

Nurse Regional Float (PRN) - System Staffing Office, (PACU, IR, Same Day Surgery)

48 hours in a 4 Week period (includes one weekend shift)

This position is part of the System Staffing Office. Our Hospital Float nurses are experienced inpatient nurses with Critical Care experience and who have agreed to go to at least two hospital facilities within the Dartmouth-Health System.

Responsibilities

The FlexChoice per diem program recruits and on-boards experienced, professional, per diem RNs, LPNs, MAs, and LNAs, and allows them the flexibility to design their own schedule and choose from a variety of diverse and exciting practice locations across the D-H system. These locations include DHMC in Lebanon, our affiliate hospitals - Cheshire Medical Center, New London Hospital, Mount Ascutney Hospital and Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, and their ambulatory areas, as well as D-H ambulatory locations in Vermont and New Hampshire (CGPs).

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.

Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.

Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients, uphold their autonomy in decision-making, ensure informed consent and assist patients in families in expressing self-determination.

Actively seeks feedback and acts to improve performance.

Engages in the governance of practice.

Manages interpersonal relationships for self and with others.

Mentors colleagues for the advancement of nursing practice and the profession.

Assumes authority and accountability for the nursing care of patients while appropriately delegating elements of care to others members of the care delivery team in accordance with laws, regulations and policies and procedures.

Precepts the student nurse, nurse extern, nurse resident, experienced clinical nurse and other members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum 2 years experience required

Required Licensure/Certifications

Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility
ACLS required upon hire.

Transitional Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Family Medicine, Per Diem

As a patient educator, advocate, and patient empowerment facilitator, this position providesinformation to the patient and/or caregiver resulting in effective care transitions, improved self-management skills,and enhanced communications between the patient and the healthcare team. Responsibilities Transitional Care Responsibilities Attends discharge planning meetings. Reviews the patient’s medical record and gathers clinical information from the current care delivery team and patient.
