Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and supporting the nursing team in maintaining residents' health and well-being. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for caregiving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care Assistance:
  • Assist residents with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Support residents with eating, hydration, and nutritional needs.
  • Help residents maintain personal hygiene and overall comfort.
  • Health Monitoring:
  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the nursing team.
  • Assist with medication reminders and basic healthcare tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Resident Engagement:
  • Foster meaningful relationships with residents through companionship and supportive care.
  • Encourage participation in activities and programs to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
  • Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist with emergency care when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic knowledge of nursing care procedures and safety practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and physical support as needed.

Certifications & Requirements:

  • Active CNA certification in good standing with the state.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Department: 34102 Enterprise Corporate - Nursing Float Pool Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Minimum Requirements This Resource Team CNA position requires a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care inpatient hospital CNA experience . Experience must be within a hospital setting (e.g., Med Surg, ICU, Telemetry, Stepdown, Oncology, ED, etc.). The Resource Nursing Assistant position for Charlotte's Resource Team requires floating to the facilities in one of the following zones: Zone 8: CMC, Mercy, Lincoln, Cleveland & Kings Mountain Pay Range: $20.80 - $31.20 Major Responsibilities: Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated. Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately. Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required. Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
