JOB DESCRIPTION

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Provide expert, direct nursing care for high-acuity patients in the immediate post-operative period, maintaining strict adherence to AORN/ASPAN standards and aseptic techniques.

  • Evaluate physiological responses to anesthesia and surgical interventions, utilizing clinical expertise to anticipate case-specific needs and potential complications based on complex pathophysiology.

  • Implement aggressive, individualized pain management strategies and therapeutic interventions to stabilize patients during the most vulnerable phase of surgical recovery.

  • Function as a vigilant advocate in a Level 1 setting, continuously assessing patient stability to ensure safe transitions and optimal outcomes in a high-volume surgical environment.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Clinical Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences: 

  • 1 plus years ICU/ED/PACU RN experience.
  • ACLS 
  • PALS
  • 36 hours per week 9am- 9pm with on call.

Intake Registered Nurse PRN

The Intake Clinician responds to inquiry calls, conducts initial intake assessments, provide referrals, and coordinate admissions process according to Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards. Essential Functions: Responds to inquiry calls, completes inquiry forms accurately, schedules assessments in a timely manner and documents follow up calls made regarding pending assessments. Conducts assessments at facility or other locations, completes Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Assessments Initial Triage thoroughly. Refers patients who are not appropriate for facility programs to appropriate resources. Coordinates pre-certification process, admissions process for patients admitted to facility programs, including admission forms, CIAs, and documents pertinent UR information. Delivers patient services in a respectful manner which promotes dignity and patient satisfaction. Identifies safety needs including ability to detect possible signs of abuse and neglect and report same to clinical staff. Identifies special mobility and equipment needs of patients Assess and interprets age and disability needs to assess level of care needed and made appropriate referrals based on same.
